Saturday was a beautiful day to celebrate a new life! A really good girlfriend is due on March 1, 2012 with her second baby (first little boy), and we held a "Mannley" shower for her! (The little one's name will be: William Mannley) There were mustaches and bow-ties galore. We played games, opened gifts, chatted, and laughed. It was a wonderful day with wonderful friends. I cannot wait until little Liam makes his appearance!
Sunday we were still out of town and therefore away from the resolution jar for the first time. We thought we would remember to pull and complete a resolution once we arrived home, but we were pooped and didn't even unpack. As an unofficial resolution though, we started researching new car insurance policies to see if we could save any money! :)
Today is Monday, and I just completed my first "Green" grocery trip (in more ways than one). We are using cash only now to make purchases, and are only allowing for $400 a month in groceries, no matter what. Well, with the help of E-Mealz (I'm LOVING that site!) and my coupons, I planned out meals for the next two weeks (because of the meat portions that I was buying). We are moving to the "recycle only" options of packaging. That means anything in plastic has to have the recyclable number 1 or 2 on it. I brought my own produce bags and did pretty well for the first attempt. We only drink almond milk and there aren't many options to its packaging. It was also a challenge to cross the recycling goal with the budgeting goal. I made out just under $120 (again - enough meat and hopefully cereal/milk for two weeks) - that also include 3 BIG bottles of wine :) I'll call it a success.
In the process of cleaning out Scarlett's closet/drawers of too small clothes, I came to realize that I have no where to put all of these amazingly perfect little clothes. We are going t hold on to everything until we are done have kids, but in reality - how long do you keep things?
Today's resolution was to paint the piggies (toes that is).... I'm hoping to get that done tonight! I'm still trying to unpack from a crazy weekend, and then prepare for my mom coming to town this Friday. On top of a new session of bootcamps starting this week, I'm already exhausted!
Tomorrow's resolution: Run a 5k. (Oh man - it was FREEZING out today.... I may see a gym day in tomorrow's schedule!)
